Fuel Prices Western Australia
Petrol Australia shows fuel prices across Western Australia from FuelWatch — the WA Government's mandatory fuel price monitoring scheme. WA operates under a unique pricing law that makes prices more predictable than any other state.
Data source and the 24-hour rule
Western Australia's Fuel Watch scheme requires all fuel retailers to submit their next-day price by 2 PM each day. That price applies from 6 AM the following morning until 5:59 AM the day after — a full 24 hours.
This means:
Prices are published the evening before they take effect
The price shown in the app at 8 AM is guaranteed to be the pump price for the full day
No mid-day price spikes
Update frequency: Daily (prices locked for 24 hours)
Coverage: All registered WA stations including Perth metro and regional WA
Verified by: WA Government / FuelWatch
Badge shown in app: Government Verified
Fuel types available in Western Australia
| Fuel type | Availability |
|---|---|
| ULP (91) | All stations |
| Diesel | Most stations |
| LPG | Selected stations |
Note: WA FuelWatch does not publish E10, 95, or 98 RON data — those fuel types have no government feed in WA and are not available in the app for WA.
Perth price cycle
Perth's cycle is visible but less acute due to the 24-hour lock. The cheapest day to fill up in Perth is typically Wednesday or Thursday. Use Insights to track the current position.
RAC discount
RAC members can connect their RAC discount in Petrol Australia to see effective prices at Caltex/Ampol network stations across WA. See Discount programs.
